Nice quaint Mexican style hotel

Such a pleasant laid back hotel. It was clean, and the staff was excellent. Many folks leave less than favorable reviews, possibly as they are spoiled. One insider tip, we were in room 16 and could get pretty good WiFi in our area.

If available, get the suite with jacuzzi tub on the balcony. For the price and location, this place is close to perfect. We stayed at the Playa Media Luna for 10 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The resort is on a really quiet backstreet, but a brief 5-minute walk from the beach on Playa Norte and the bars, restaurants, and shops on Hidalgo Street.

We’d booked one of the”Honeymoon” suites on the next floor; cozy room, comfortable king bed, lots of pillows, fridge, sitting room, jacuzzi bath on the gorgeous large deck with fantastic views of the ocean during the day and the stars at nighttime. The sunrise was right facing us every morning. Nice spotless bathroom. There’s a constant breeze on the side of the island so that it never seems sticky hot.

The pool is quite lovely. We’ve spent our days at Playa Norte on past trips, but discovered that the pool so pleasant that we alternated days between the pool and the beach. We found the free continental breakfast to be more than adequate: a range of fresh fruits, pastries, yogurt, granola, cereal, toast, jam, honey, peanut butter, coffee, and juice.

You’re also just around the corner from the local marketplace, which has many loncherias where you can acquire excellent breakfasts and lunches at quite reasonable rates. The staff in the hotel were very personable – recommending awesome things like the cozumel atv to jade caverns tour for me and my family, and housekeeping did a fantastic job of keeping the area clean. We loved the casual ambiance of Playa Media Luna and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it or stay here!

This hotel is fabulous. This was our second stay and was even better than the first! They have done some updating to the grounds around the pool and also added a soaking pool to the side, quite lovely! Everything you need is a 5 minute. Walk. Other guests staying while we’re there were severe repeat traffic to Media Luna. I highly recommend this hidden jewel!
